I want to be in the spiritual game of life! I want to be found helping God as He unfolds His mighty plan on the earth. I want to be found right in the middle of His perfect will for my life!

Don’t you? Do you ever wonder what is God’s will for your life? It is certainly the season and time to know it and never wonder about it again. Knowing God’s will is actually very attainable—and I want you to understand how easy it is to know. I don’t want you to miss out on being in the middle of all He is doing in the earth today!

In Romans 12, Paul describes a transformation that leads us to knowing God’s will in every situation in our lives:

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will (or as another translation says: His good, acceptable and perfect will).”

In this passage, Paul is giving us two prerequisites to knowing God’s plan for our lives:
· Physical Discipline…to offer your body, your physical desires, cravings and passions as a spiritual act of worship.
· Mental Discipline…to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, something only you can do.

So, first, we are to discipline ourselves physically, and Paul says that when we do that, we’ll discover God’s good, acceptable and eventually perfect plan for our lives.

Then, He says we are not to be conformed to this world—which is taking the path of least resistance. We have to determine that we will not conform to the world’s thinking which is how this world mentally approaches life, its value system and its moral standards. Instead, we are to be transformed by the process of mind renewal.

Without a renewed mind, it is virtually
impossible to recognize God’s will.

I want you to get this revelation. I don’t want you to miss out on God’s plan for your life. You won’t get your mind renewed by being in a “good church.” Your mind gets renewed when you go to church, or watch Christian television teaching, or listen to cds while releasing your faith:

“I’m being transformed tonight. I’m not conforming to the thoughts and words I’ve heard all week. I’ve got my Bible, pen and notebook. I’m ready, Lord! Let the transformation begin!”

God loves this kind of believer and behavior! He can respond to you when you set your faith like this! He wants you to commit to a disciplined mind!

The failure to commit to a disciplined mind produces an experience that leads to always looking for an external guidance…like a prophecy, a word of knowledge or wisdom, or a vision or dream.

Those things should be confirmations of what you already know from having a disciplined mind—not be what determines your path.

When you live according to external guidance you are bypassing the discipline of obedience. God wants you committed to the transformation process of disciplining your mind. If you don’t renew your mind, your thoughts will wander…

· Is that the will of God for me?
· I think I need a prophecy…
· Is that a sign?
Maybe God is trying to show me something…

When your mind wanders like this, your life becomes unstable. Your emotions become unstable, and your walk will be shallow. Your foundation for all decision-making will be shaky. Your growth will be intermittent instead of steady.

God doesn’t want that for you! Paul was warning you not to live that way. Missy and I are warning you. We want the best for you.

When you have a transformed mind, then you are able to live by an internal software program God has downloaded into your life. With this internal software, YOU CAN KNOW INSTINCTIVELY WHAT IS THE WILL OF GOD EVERY TIME!

The plan of God is for living and enjoying—
not for analyzing and searching!

You can’t enjoy the will of God if you are always trying to find it. You shouldn’t spend your life in search of the will of God. You should be living in the will of God. The will of God is a…
· Walk
· Journey
· Fun and enjoyable adventure
· Path that is life-giving

The Christian life isn’t supposed to be a series of starts and stops, a drag, challenged with whiplash, or feel intense. Sure, the new believer, who hasn’t gotten to know God and His ways over time, will need some external guidance. But you, my friend, as a mature believer, are to renew your mind and be sure of your decisions. I want you to understand this.

Knowing the will of God has less to do with doing the right thing, and more to do with being the right person.

When God promised His people in Deuteronomy 28 they would be blessed, He said, “You’ll be blessed in the country. You’ll be blessed in the city.”

So the blessing has nothing to do with where you are, and everything to do with who you are.

You’re blessed in the city BECAUSE YOU’RE THERE.

You’re blessed in the country BECAUSE YOU’RE THERE.

God’s blessings aren’t attached to things. They are attached to people. So that revelation delivers us from “Should I?” or “Shouldn’t I?” It sets us free to understanding that God is saying: “You choose! And I’ll bless you!” The blessing is on you! A renewed mind teaches you this…and in it you’ll find His good, acceptable and perfect will.

Will you be blessed if you take this job—or that one? You’ll be blessed at either because the blessing is on you! Not the job!

I don’t want you to put your life on hold waiting on a prophecy or word. Be confident that you are blessed everywhere you go! God is working it all out according to His timing.

Missy and I are so thankful for you. Your support is evidence of God’s transformation work in your life. Your letters and words of encouragement let us know how we’re helping God’s people renew their minds and lead disciplined lives. We pray for you every day, releasing the power of possibility into your life.

You are transformed!

P.S. Whatever you control, you’re shaping. Whatever you can’t control is shaping you. Trust Him. He is working everything to the purpose and plan for your life that conforms you to His will. As New Covenant believers, those revelations are causing us to live at a whole new level of truth.

I don’t want you to miss out on any truth God is speaking to our generation today. God has something significant He wants to tell you. There is a new level of truth He wants you to walk in. Many people think they know what I’m about to share with you, but they aren’t walking in the reality of it.

Jesus’s intentions through His mission statement are still working in us and among us today
(Luke 4:18-19)…
· To release captives
· To open the eyes of the blind
· To set the oppressed free

…now in the time of the Lord’s favor.

You Are Living in the Time of the Lord’s Favor!

Jesus came with a vision to produce results—and that vision has continued throughout time to reach the height of its powerful outcome in our generation. We are living in a time of the most favor of any generation.

But what does that mean?

In a natural sense, have you ever had a relationship with someone who favored you? You were their favorite. You were the exception to the rule. You received privileges no one else did. There were advantages only you got. It was “special treatment.” You were preferred above all others.

This was what Jesus proclaimed in His mission statement when He walked the earth—but it went right in one ear and out the other. His generation didn’t get it, and very few have in the last 2,000 years.

It’s the generation who gets it and sees it that will possess it.

WE ARE THAT GENERATION!

The Lord told me to call our generation “THE NEW GENERATION,” because God is treating us differently than any other generation before us. What marks us is not God’s judgment and wrath, but His mercy and favor. We are not only realizing His mercy and favor in intangible ways, but also in tangible ways.

As the Lord began to show me this, He said, “Scott, if something enters your life and it doesn’t appear to be favor, if it doesn’t look like favor, or feel like favor, then I didn’t send it to you—so reject it immediately!

Consider what Jesus said to us:

“You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him” (Matthew 7:9-11).

God doesn’t give us rocks and snakes! He gives us GOOD GIFTS. This is the purpose of favor.

Think about what John said: “As He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).

“Well, how is He? How is Jesus right now?”

It’s really not WWJD (What would Jesus do?). It’s “What is Jesus doing?” It’s not as He was. It’s as He is. So where is He and how is He?

“Jesus is seated at the right hand of Father God…and He has raised us up and made us sit together in heavenly places with Him” (Ephesians 2:6).

As a New Covenant believer, He raised us up. That’s past tense. THIS IS THE POSITION OF FAVOR!

I WANT YOU TO SEE WHAT YOU MIGHT BE MISSING…

You and I are no longer under the Old Covenant trying to gain His acceptance. We aren’t:
· Trying to earn His favor
· Merit His grace
· Deserve His mercy
· Work for the blessing

The truth is:
· We live from His acceptance
· We live from a position of favor and grace
· We live from a place of mercy
· We live in the blessing

We have been RAISED UP TOGETHER and made to sit TOGETHER in heavenly places in Christ Jesus!

THIS IS WHY WE ARE THE NEW GENERATION!

The Bible is one book with two covenants. The two covenants are simply building materials God used to bridge the gap between humanity and Himself. And what God could not accomplish with the Old Covenant, the New Covenant completed successfully. The bridge was made complete through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 8:7-9, 13).

So what most of the previous generations failed to realize is the New Covenant is nothing like the Old, and it was sent to re-position us relationally with God, because the Old Covenant robs us of our position of favor with God.

We are no longer held down, held back by the Old. We’ve ascended. We’ve been elevated. Now we are relationally close to Him.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

So you’re no longer an old creature by sin, but neither are you an old creature by the Old Covenant (the law). You’re a new creature in Christ Jesus!

You’ve been born again into a New Covenant. The Old Covenant is gone, obsolete, disappearing, because the New Covenant has come. Don’t look back at the Old Covenant (the law).

“Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified” (Galatians 2:16).

If we are not supposed to observe or look to the law—the Old Covenant—then where are we supposed to look? TO THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH! (Hebrews 12:2).

When you live here—in the New Covenant—you are occupying a position of power. So you have…

· The power to overcome every circumstance and situation
· The power to prosper
· The power of wisdom
· The power of the blessing

From here no one can steal the favor of God upon your life.

Missy and I are so thankful for you. Your support is a manifestation of God’s favor and blessing in our lives.
In this season of celebration, I think about the great lengths our Heavenly Father went to in order to bring Heaven and Earth back together again after they were separated in the Garden of Eden.

Paul said in Romans 5:12, “Through one man (Adam) sin entered the world and death by sin.”

Compliments of Adam’s transgression, humanity was separated from God.

“But through one man (Jesus) righteousness was restored” (Romans 5:18).

So what the Old Covenant could not accomplish, the New Covenant, through Jesus Christ, was successfully completed. This is why God gave us one Bible, but two Covenants, to explain what it took to bridge the gap between Heaven and Earth.

When Jesus’ birth was announced, humanity entered into a new era. God’s great cosmic plan was unveiled as a catalyst to complete the vast chasm that existed between humanity and Himself. Although God’s plan encountered many obstacles and faced great resistance, it was masterfully executed through Jesus Christ.Luke 2:14 says, “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (New King James Version).

When I study the elements of the Old Covenant historically, I clearly see how it couldn’t possibly accomplish what God set out to do originally. So then, in His masterful plan, He had to give us a New Covenant that was perfect. I’m overwhelmed at His love for you and for me! He went to such lengths for us!

We certainly have a reason for our spirits to be light and our souls to be full of joy—a Savior is born! Through the completed work of the Cross, we have been completely exonerated. Our slate has been wiped clean so there is no record of sin or guilt or condemnation. Under the Old Covenant, we were distant, far-off, and only an acquaintance with God. But through Jesus, our relational position with Him is completely changed. Now we are up-close and personal. With this New Covenant, Jesus has elevated us into a new place. Paul described it in Ephesians 2:6: “And hath raised us up together and made us sit together, in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Glory to God in the highest!!!

Missy and I, and our awesome team bless you in this wonderful season. May your marriages, children and extended family experience the power of possibility, and have a glorious Christmas. Let’s celebrate our God, our Savior Jesus and our New Covenant with Him!

Allow me to lead you in a devotion this month. As I so often do, I begin my time with God each morning around a particular scripture.

“This is the Lord’s doing, it’s marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be exceedingly glad in it.” (Psalm 118:23-24)

One day, my spirit repeated it back to me this way:

This day is the Lord’s doing. You should marvel at it because He made this day specifically for you, and if you truly believe that, you won’t just be glad, you will be “exceedingly glad” and you’ll “rejoice.”

Then the Holy Spirit said to me so clearly, “Exceedingly glad is the way one acts, who believes today is a gift from God.”

As He said it, gladness that I had never experienced before began to sweep over me and I rejoiced, shouted, praised, laughed, and cried, all at the same time, because of His tangible goodness.

He then said, “Your gladness is the confirmation that you believe today is a gift directly to you from me. Now, I desire for you to approach every day this way. When you do, all the strength you need will be in your day.”.

All the love.

All the joy.

All the peace.

All the healing.

All the protection and safety.

All the relationships.

All the resources and finances you need will be there just for you.

So when each day arrives in your life, compliments of your God, it comes as a gift, a perfect gift, a gift of extravagance, from a heart of generosity. God will never give you not enough, just enough or even barely enough. He always gives us “more than enough.” It’s already built into every day. So make a decision to marvel, to rejoice. Say it, “I will be exceedingly glad, each day.” Because when we do, our praise validates and confirms that today is a gift from God.

Thank you for all you sow in BelieversWay and believersway.tv. Missy and I love you. We are all so blessed with rich Word from our God. I believe for great harvest in your life.

Don’t Believe the Doom and Gloom!

We are living in prophetic times…and what is stamped on this generation is not judgment, but mercy and grace.

As I’m writing this, the stock market has fallen 2,000 points in just a few days. The airwaves are full of terrible news—stock markets are plummeting, riots are breaking out, terrorism attacks are happening, and European nations have potential financial default on the horizon. We can even turn on Christian television programs and see preachers selling food rations for what they are predicting as a cataclysmic event. Prophets are even prophesying doom and gloom.

But don’t be so hasty to believe such things that bring fear into your heart or mind! This is not God speaking to us.
First Corinthians 14:3 says, “But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.”

God uses prophecy to strengthen, encourage and bring comfort—not fear. If you happen to be one of those Christians who has fallen prey to doom and gloom prophecies, I have good news for you, today.

Isaiah 60:2 says,

“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people.”

You may say, “See Scott, even God says darkness on the people.”

Hold on, because God is not declaring that over you and me. Notice the part He does prophecy over us:

“But the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you.”

Although darkness will envelope the world, and the unbeliever’s life, the Lord will rise over us as believers, and mercy and grace will abound in our lives.

Yes, it’s getting darker and darker out there, but the path of the righteous is getting brighter and brighter until the perfect day, which is when Jesus returns (Proverbs 4:18).

Our light is growing, abounding and increasing.

There is an expiration date on this prophecy. It’s the 2nd coming of Christ. But we have nothing to be concerned about, for as the Lord continues to arise over us, there is safety and protection through His mercy and grace.

Over the years, there have been many prophecy disasters about the United States. As I’ve listened, I’ve purposefully stood against them in prayer and watched those things not materialize or manifest. God hasn’t given us prophecy to frighten us, because God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear.

He gives us the spirit of power, the spirit of love, and the spirit of soundness of mind (2 Timothy 1:7). So the next time you hear the gloom and doom prophets, remember, God is rising upon us releasing His mercy and grace, to strengthen us, encourage us and comfort His people.

In what area of your life today do you need His mercy and grace? It’s available. He is releasing it now. He wants to strengthen you, encourage you and comfort you. I don’t care what you’ve done, or what kind of fix you’re in—even if it is of your own making—God has more than enough mercy and grace to help you.

But this time it was different! It was as if God was saying it to me again because I missed the fullness of what He meant the first time.

Have you ever done that?

Has God ever told you something, then you mentioned it to someone else, but later God implied to you that you didn’t do it any justice. You didn’t get the depth of its meaning.

Well, this wasn’t my first time to experience this. I have been here many times before.

In fact, God said, “Scott, you didn’t get it.”

He said, “While you’re doing what you can do by faith—living, loving, forgiving, ministering, giving, raising children, discipling, moving forward—yes, while you’re doing the expected, the intended, the explained, the usual—as you purpose to do what I’ve told you to do, and you’re faithful with it, My spirit is going to overshadow your actions, releasing the power of possibility. I’ll turn your natural actions into supernatural results. There will be an unintended result, an unexpected outcome, even unexplained manifestations.”

(What are you doing by faith? Insert your list where He mentioned mine.)

He continued, “Remember when I told you about this year, before you ever stepped foot into it?”

“Yes.”

“When I do tell you to do something you’ve never done before, do it, and I’ll do something for you I’ve never done before.”

Truly, I entered this year telling Missy, my pastors and staff exactly that there will be things that I’m going to do this year that are not routine or normal—while at the same time being faithful with the routine and the normal. It describes my year precisely!
God went on to instruct me, “Now put the two together.”

My dearest Partners, listen to the voice of the Spirit. This word is for all of us.

God is bringing unintended results, unexpected outcomes, even unexplained manifestations, if we first will be faithful with the normal activities of our relationship with Him, yet be willing to do things we’ve never done before. When we do, God will do things in our lives He’s never done before.

Do you see it? God is prophesying our future—what our days ahead look like.

The difference between cold and frozen is simply one degree—from 33 degrees to 32 degrees. So what is the one thing you can do that is out of the normal, so that God will do something out of the routine for you? Because I believe it’s the one degree that will make a difference.

Let me kick the can down the road. What one thing can you do differently even in your relationship with BelieversWay?

Have you ever prayed for BelieversWay TV or Missy and me? Have you sown seed into a BWC campus or BWC TV recently? God loves it when we give—when we trust him enough to sow seed and believe Him for a harvest.

Sometimes our giving becomes habit. We give the same amounts in the same places. Is there something new God wants you to do?

A partner who has always faithfully supported our ministry for years recently realized they sowed generously, but didn’t designate any of their seed specifically for TV. God told them to start doing that. It was the act of doing something new. Now God can do something in their lives He’s never done before!

Again, are you ready for something new to happen? Then sow a seed like you’ve never done it before. And watch God put His super on your natural. Watch Him bring unintended results, unexpected outcomes, and unexplained manifestations, as you are faithful with the normal activities of your relationship with Him, and are willing to do things you’ve never done before.

Once you do this, write us. Missy and I want to hear how God is moving in your life. We want to rejoice with you that God is faithful to His word in this letter. Our staff wants to rejoice with you. We are in this journey together!

Thank you for supporting BelieversWay With Scott and Missy. Thank you for believing God enough to act on His Word and live your life for Him! We appreciate you. Thank you for watching the show, and fellowshipping with us at our campuses.

Interesting events are happening all around us. In fact, we’re in what I would call “extreme times.” That’s why it’s necessary that we learn to separate the interesting from the important.

Years ago, the Lord began to give me wisdom for my own life from Romans 11:29, “The gifts and callings of God are without repentance.”

The Lord showed me how this promise is not just for preachers but for all people. God has gifts, graces, assignments and callings for all of us. Then He went on to explain:

“The graces, giftings, and anointings are a currency that I gave you that I want spent on the Earth. Don’t bring them back to heaven because they weren’t meant to be spent here!”

In other words, people can get so preoccupied with daily life, that they don’t access the graces God has given them to live successfully as believers, having an advantage, the upper-hand over their circumstances.

The question that begs asking then is, how do we deal with our issues?

To answer that, let me remind you of a story Jesus told, found in Matthew 25:14-30:
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.”

Notice each servant was given finances according to his original graces and giftings that facilitated God’s purpose for his life. The two who possessed right thinking took the finances they were stewarding with the currency of their graces, giftings and anointings, and put them to work to produce increase. Right thinking with right actions produced twice as much.

Verse 29 goes on to say…“For to everyone who has, more will be given.”

The point is, we must always keep our graces in motion.

God always gives more to those who are fruitful and who bring addition and multiplication by utilizing the currency of their graces in the here and now.

That’s why it’s so important we see our graces and anointings correctly. We can avoid the mistake of the “fearful servant” who did nothing with the graces he had been given, not recognizing its value, its worth, even its power because of his wrong perspective of God. He should have known that His master required him to be fruitful, multiply and increase…as the other two did.

Let me be frank. I’ve learned not to “pimp” my graces through poor stewardship. I’ve learned not to misappropriate my gifts on wrong pursuits or even wrong associations. Many times, this occurs because we get preoccupied with other things and lose focus of what’s important to Him, and who we should be connecting with.

God gave us the currency of graces not to react in fear, burying it inside our own personal lives and agendas. When we do this, our God-given power is placed into inactivity, when it should be unleashed.

So—even in these “extreme” times—we must not take on the posture of the fearful, who through a wrong perspective of God misappropriate the graces they’ve been given.

We need to understand the importance of associations, partnerships and assignments so we make transactions with our graces and gifts as directed by God. He is very specific where He wants the currency of our graces, gifting and anointings to go, as well as how to steward them.

In the end, when you connect to your God-ordained assignments and associations, you essentially turn on the “switch” of your anointings, giftings and graces—which will pull you through extreme times and get you to the other side.

Remember what the Lord said: “Don’t bring the currency of grace back to heaven. It won’t spend here.” Rather, exhaust your account, emptying it of all its heavenly contents, being fruitful and productive bringing increase and multiplication to the kingdom of God, thereby advancing His purposes on the earth.

In heaven, someday, we will have new assignments and new graces and giftings. For now, trust God. Trust His plan and you will have abundance (Matthew 25:29),which will bring additional increase along with new levels of success in your life.

Thank you for being a partner with BelieversWay. Thank you for being involved. Your graces are active. This month, I’m asking the Lord to reveal the great graces you possess, their value and importance to your life.

He explained the characteristic that would define this season. He took me to Isaiah 40:31: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount upon wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.”

Did you notice in this verse there are 4 different seasons (times) that he has distinguished from each other?

A season of waiting…

A season of soaring…

A season of running…

A season of walking…

In the previous season, I was constantly waiting. Waiting on my staff. Waiting on my leadership. Waiting to achieve this goal or that goal. Waiting on people, waiting on a plan, a strategy, and then waiting on someone to execute the plan. These were simply external markers of what was really happening in the dimension of the spirit. God had determined that I would be in a season of waiting, maybe you’ve also been waiting on God. The purpose for a season of waiting is to renew one’s strength.

Psalm 23:2-3 says, “He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me by still waters. He restores my soul.”

Again: A season of waiting, purposed by God to renew one’s strength. This cycle in Isaiah 40 is repeated over and over in a believer’s life who lives with purpose.

The season we are approaching is one of soaring and running. It’s with a newly discovered strength we didn’t know we had in us. You’ll recognize a new strength for the days ahead, a new fuel source, that was deposited in you…in the previous season.

You’ll discover strength in your inner-man—your spirit (Ephesians 3:16).

You’ll find that you have strength for your days (Deuteronomy 33:25).

Strong body. Tenacity, stamina, endurance…

Strong eyesight. You’ll see through things and sort them out, distinguishing between what’s right and what’s false.
Strong hearing. You’ll hear God, new levels of truth, new revelations.

Strong mind. Quick wit, quick answers and solutions.

Strong prayers. Your prayer life will no longer be burdensome or wearisome, but will be fresh and exciting, and will ignite and spark new results.

Strong relationship. Your relationships will be defined as “power relationships” with a new-found strength in existing relationships. You’ll discover people are more willing toward you, more agreeable. This will create a power dynamic of 2.

“1 will put a thousand to flight. 2 will put 10,000 to flight” (Deuteronomy 32:30).

Now, those things that have wearied you…are in your rearview mirror. Do not look back. Do not repeat the same cycle by living in the past. Step into this “supernatural strength” that’s available in this new season. It’s the season where one is no longer waiting—for it’s time to soar and reign.

Using a “pilot’s training” example. I saw it as touch and go’s…

More soaring and occasionally touching down, not stopping. Instead, running fast. This will bring you into new resources, finances and greater prosperity.

You will not get weary in well doing. And you’ll reap because you did not faint (Galatians 6:9).

In our Call to Action this month, Missy and I want you to sow your gift today into the soil of this prophetic word....
Connect your power of believing and action (seed) to receive all that this new season has available to you.

Have you ever considered the value of your freedom-the lifestyle of the free that we take advantage of everyday, but so often take for granted?

What does freedom look like? What does freedom feel like? How does one act who is completely free? What can I do with all this liberty?

Until we answer these questions-by considering the value of our freedom-we will never become personally responsible for it. Being personally responsible for our freedom is the first step to mastering our freedom-and once we truly master our freedom, then we are capable of helping free others who are in bondage. In other words, if you are enslaved internally, then you can never liberate those who are in captivity.

So, again, I ask you: "What do I do with all this freedom?"

Two thousand years later, Jesus is still freeing people with the freedom that was resident inside Him. He freed people when he walked the earth, and ever since as the resurrected Lord. He has continued to do this because he never stopped increasing His capacity for freedom.

The freedom that was and is on the inside of Jesus was and is enough to free every person in every generation for all time. That's great capacity. Now someone may say, "Yeah, but hold on, they killed Him on the cross. Don't tell me He was free." The Word says they didn't take his life-He laid it down. It was his choice-and that's what happens when we master our freedom. People can't kill you. No one can stop you from your destiny, rob you of your purpose, or steal your dream. No one can postpone or delay God's will for your life even for a day. It's your choice. Jesus said, "The wicked one is coming, but he has nothing in me."1 In other words, Jesus was not in bondage to anything. He had no inferior qualities or mindsets inside Him. He was completely a son of God-and you can be too-totally free from all darkness. He walked in the full capacity of freedom, enough for all humanity, for all time.

If Jesus grew His capacity of freedom, to include all of us, including our marriages, families, health and finances, then how do you and I grow our capacity for greater levels of freedom?

It's found hidden in Jesus' statement, "Freely you receive, freely give."2 You see, the more freedom you give, the freer you become. The more freedom you give to others, the more freedom you receive from the Father, through Jesus Christ, and the greater your capacity for freedom. Do you see the cycle?

Each exchange-each time you freely receive and freely give-breaks down interior walls inside you to make room for more, therefore increasing your capacity. So whatever freedom you have, give it away.

Have you been healed? Give it away.

Do you have God's wisdom? Give it away.

Are you prosperous? Give some of it away.

Whatever you have, give it, and freedom will overtake you.

Let me introduce you to a new section in our monthly letter: the "Call to Action" section.

The Bible says, "Faith without action is dead."3

Just as Missy and I have freely given to you, our love, knowledge, wisdom...even investing financially into your life by bringing Believersway TV into your home-most of you without ever meeting you personally or spending time with you face to face. I see this investment into you as the same way God approached you and me "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."4 We didn't know Him, He didn't know us, but He, as a total stranger had so much love and respect for us, that He gave what He had away. That's what Missy and I have done. We've given our very lives because that's what taking responsibility for freedom looks like to us.

Can I ask you to reach back to us? Put action to your freedom and freely contribute to BelieversWay. Break down those inner obstacles by joining this Power of Possibility Team in taking God's freedom and all of its power to the world. When you do, you'll create more capacity and experience, and a greater level of freedom in your life than ever before. Your liberty will overwhelm every limitation and every bondage. Release the power of possibility, and it will blow the lid off your life.

Before you had a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, you lived your life on one level. It was your personal life. It consisted of “self this” and “self that.” It was full of self-evaluation, self-worth, selfish motives and self-esteem. But after you were born again, you began living on two levels.

Level A: Your personal life.

Level B: Your life inside the kingdom of God.

This is why you started pursuing God, going to church, watching BelieversWay TV, reading your Bible, attending a small group, and other special meetings. You wanted what Jesus instructed us to do in His life-shaping statement:

Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.1 This statement changed everything for you. Jesus was literally challenging you to make the switch in your priorities—putting “B” as “A,” and “A” as “B.”

So it looks like this.

Level A: Your life inside the kingdom.

Level B: Your personal life.

When you make “the switch,” your personal life is finally impacted by the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.

When you make “the switch,” God begins speaking to you about “you.” He gets specific, and you get clarity about who you are in the kingdom, your office, gifting, callings, anointing and assignments because, The gifts and callings of God are without repentance.2

As a preacher, I am accountable to God for my gifts and callings—and so are you. We all have callings—either in the marketplace or in the Church.

God desires to ignite, who He created you to be…

When this happens, you’ll think the thoughts of God, and then God will give you new thoughts. You’ll have dreams of being the head and not the tail. You’ll have visions of being above and not beneath, first instead of last. You’ll be favored by God and man, and excel in your job. You’ll possibly start your own business. Your life will take a turn—not for the worse—but for the better. And you’ll begin doing incredible things for the kingdom of God, and the kingdom of God will bring incredible things into your life…all because you made “the switch.”

Join Missy and me. Release the power of possibility by making the switch today! Seek first His kingdom—in every way you can!

by Scott Johnson

If you have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, then you have been given the power to get! Get what? Get wealth—and everything else you need in this life.

“But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you
power to get….”1

This power to get that God has given you gives you the upper hand. It makes the odds stacked in your favor. The deck is not stacked against you—it’s for you! When you are in a covenant relationship with God, you have an advantage that others don’t have.

We see this throughout the Old Testament. Abraham had the power to get—he was wealthy in livestock, silver and gold. Isaac had the power to get—he sowed in a time of famine and reaped a hundredfold in the same year. Joseph had the power to get. David had the power to get. Solomon had the power to get. And in the New Testament, so did Jesus.

Jesus had the power to draw the wise men and the shepherds to him when he was young—and they brought provisions he needed.

Later, as a man, when he needed a boat, he used the power to get to get a boat. When he needed a house, he used the power to get to get a house. When he needed money, he used the power to get to get a coin out of the mouth of a fish. When he needed transportation, he used the power to get to get a donkey. When he needed to feed 4,000, and then 5,000, he used the power to get to multiply food. When he needed the upper room, and partners with resources, he used the power to get and attracted Suzanna, the wife of Herod’s steward.

Jesus used this same power to get that God has given to us. Jesus didn’t use it to show off, or to intimidate. No, he used it to establish the covenant—to further God’s kingdom—and that is the same charge God makes to us.

Establish God’s Covenant

The rest of Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”1

God has given you the power to get wealth—the power to become wealthy—to establish his covenant. You have been blessed to be a blessing! The power to get is the blessing!

“The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich….”2

Use the Blessing

What do you need today? Is it healing, finances, maybe a relationship restored? Use the blessing—the power to get—to draw that into your life. It is the potential you need to experience the change you want. Its purpose in your life is to help you get what you need.

Have you ever failed? Maybe it was a test, a friendship, a job, or a situation regarding your children. Whatever it was, it made you feel like an absolute failure…

It’s coming to mind isn’t it? God knew days and seasons like that would come, so he had the Apostle Paul write to us clear instruction:

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

The implication of this scripture is that we do realize our dreams, our destinies…that prosperity and abundance always await us on the other side of failure—we just have to have the tenacity to stay with it until we reach success.

I know it can wear you out when you’re doing all you know to do, and you’re still not getting results. It feels like God has left your life, like you’re going nowhere that you can’t seem to catch a break. I get it!

Yet, Paul said, “You’ll reap if you don’t give up!”

Respond Rightly to Failure

So don’t give up! Learn to respond to failure the right way and it will propel you to success. This is what Moses did. His life was riddled with failures—far more than his successes—but he didn’t give up.

Think about his life:

First, his mother abandoned him—even though it was for a good reason—and put in a basket to float down a river. Being abandoned is definitely a feeling of failure!

He was rescued and raised by Pharaoh’s daughter. That would be a success.

He grew up and one day murdered an Egyptian whom he buried in the desert. Failure!

He became a fugitive running for his life. Failure.

He spent 42 years hiding in the desert. Failure.

Had the burning bush experience. Success.

Returned to Egypt as God’s messenger. Success.

The people he’s trying to help—the Hebrew—turn on him because Pharaoh makes them work twice as hard producing bricks without straw. Failure.Marches three million slaves out of captivity into freedom. Success.

In the wilderness, the people build a golden calf and turn to idolatry. Failure. He gets worn out from the people’s whining and griping. Tells God to kill him. Failure. The people rebel against God so 3,000 die in one day. Failure.Moses builds the tabernacle. Success.

The glory of God fills the tabernacle. Success.

Do you see how his failures outnumbered his successes? He had eight failures and six successes. Are you glad he didn’t quit when he had a few failures—even one right after the other?

Moses didn’t quit—ever—and neither should you. It really is possible to have success after failure, and there is always a way to turn your failure into success.

Despite how you may feel, failure is not who you are! It doesn’t define you.

Yes, it’s an event—like a loss.

It’s a percentage on a piece of paper—like a grade.

It’s a moment in time—like a tragedy.

But it’s not who you are!

It’s time to learn how to respond to failure effectively so you can get back up and get back in the game—so start by not letting it define you.

Failure Produces Strength

The truth is that failure—despite how bad it can feel—is a good thing in our lives, because failure produces something success can’t. It produces strength. When an athlete trains, he trains to the point of failure—to the point he can’t lift another pound or run another step. And it makes him stronger.

When Moses failed, he refueled. He got back with God…on the backside of the desert, in the tent of meeting, on Mt. Sinai. Today, we go to the house of God. We go to church, watch Christian television, and listen to teaching cds. We renew and refuel—just like Moses did.

We train—to the point of failure. We discipline our hearts and minds to stay in faith and keep fighting the good fight of faith. We have diligent persistence because successful people are resilient—and that’s who we are!

2010 is over. Whatever failures you experienced are behind you. Now take the strength it produced in you and enter 2011 stronger! It’s a year in which you can grow stronger and achieve true success—which might include a few failures from time to time. But those failures won’t define you or slow you down! You are a success and you are successful because God lives on the inside of you…and He’s training you and making you stronger.

Strong is your fight! Shout it out loud—over and over—until it resonates with strength on the inside of you…until faith rises up and overtakes the lies of the devil putting you down. A strong spirit sustains you!2 Today—and all year long.
